So, I've been saying I'll do this for a while and I finally have gotten to it! A K-pop song review/translation post... Instead of going into super detail about only one song, I decided that each week I will two to four songs either recent or older that I like and do a quick review as well as translate the lyrics. So here we go!

General Happenings: Being Sick, Midterms, Room Introduction!
So, although I have nothing super interesting fandom-wise to write about this time, you do get some true general happenings having to do with the sort of life any usual person would have. What? I'm not going to talk about anything K-pop as the main topic? It's a miracle...

General Happenings: 111027
My day yesterday was pretty unbelievably busy. I went to class like normal, because I’m a good student like that (:P), but right after class ended at 1pm I hurried to the bus stop to go up to Digital Media City for M!Countdown. I was torn between lining up for Infinite or for the new group, MyName, as requested by a good friend of mine who can’t go herself.
In the end I spotted girls in full-body animal outfits with fansigns for MyName members and asked them where the list was. They were more than happy to show me where and I put my name on the list. I was 27th on the original list, but a bit later at 2pm since I’m an upgraded member on the fancafe I got moved forward and ended up being 18th. There was another white girl in the line who I spoke with (Theresa, she knows you! I don’t know her name…)
They came around and passed out signed slogans (the towel-like things you see some fangroups holding up) and gave us number slips for the official fanmeeting that’s supposed to be after Inkigayo on Sunday. Stood around for a bit and I made friends with the girls who had helped me find the fanstaff before. (They are also Inspirits, BBCs and BANAs. We got along well. xD) Then we were told to come back at 3:30. With the other white girl I went down to the basement food court of the C&M Center (where M!Countdown is recorded) after I grabbed some ice cream from the Coldstone inside. We chilled down there for a while before going to head up…
That’s when, through some of the decorative trees, I spotted Nam Woohyun at the counter making an order for food! (So yes, they do actually eat…) My heart stopped for a moment before saying not loud, but not really in a whisper, “Oh my god, it’s Infinite.” Walking around the decorative trees with my friend I spotted Woohyun and then Sungyeol as well. They were with one of their managers (Geonam? I don’t know the managers well…) and some staff. I froze and sort of stared for several moments.
After making his order Woohyun turned around and caught me staring and smiled and waved a bit, and I sort of did an awkward bow/bobble/I don’t even know what it was. He looks so tired… I’m worried about him. Then Sungyeol turned around after making his order as well and his eyes went as wide as dinner plates and he stared like he did at the fansigning and I stared back and it was pretty obvious he recognized me. I bowed awkwardly and waved some as they went off to sit and I left with my friend…
Only to get outside and realize I had left my gloves at our table. :|
So I had to go back in and get my gloves… and Woohyun, Sungyeol, and the staff were sitting at the table next to the one where me and my friend had been sitting. My gloves had fallen to the floor under the table so I had to crawl under and get them and they looked at me and I sort of held up my gloves as explanation and bowed and then ran off as quick as possible.
I promise I’m not creepy. ;o; Don’t be scared of meeeee.
Went back outside and we lined up again at 3:30. They handed out slips of paper with the fanchant on them. But see, there was a problem with that… Nobody had actually heard the song yet, because it wasn’t released yet. Oops. Sort of bad planning…
Somehow we were supposed to get a prerecording in for MyName even though it didn’t seem likely… And then we did actually manage to get in and do one take. They didn’t even get a run through or practice before, and that also means the fanchants you hear us doing in the video are completely guessing and if anyone had actually known when to say anything they would have been much louder and impressive because we actually had a ton of people. I will write the fanchant in a post after this and maybe make a fool of myself by recording me doing the fanchant because some of the parts are strange?
Went outside after just one take because it was literally thirty minutes before they would let people in for the live. We weren’t supposed to have any space in the live for us, but we lined up and attempted to practice the fan chant once quietly so other people wouldn’t hear the song. It then turned out that we were going to get 10… and then 15… and then twenty people into the live. I was 15th once some people who needed to left. And then… get this…
We were the first of all the fanclubs to get let in.
They let the people who got tickets in the morning in first, but then it was us next so I was really close to the front. Then as the live went on and people pushed and pushed and pushed I ended up being the second person from the front near stage right. It was a very, very good spot~. I will say this, the Primadonnas pushed way more than the SNSD fans. Orange Caramel fans didn’t push at all (I had them like, right behind me for most of the show). Inspirits surprisingly did not push like I had expected them to…
The first performers were the other new guy group, M.I.B. with “Girls, Dreams, Money”… but the thing is, when they say ‘dreams’ it totally sounds like ‘drinks’ and they do hand movements that can be associated with drinks. Way to get around the man, guys. Way to go. Cheered hard for MyName who were second for the live even though it wouldn’t be heard since it was prerecorded. U-Kiss was a couple performances in and I screamed like an idiot for Soohyun as they were getting ready to start and joined in on the fanchant. Kept waiting for Infinite to come out, and surprisingly they were waaay near the end!
Since they did the remix nobody knew for sure what to do for the fanchant when… but it went okay, haha. Most of the Inspirits were quite a ways farther back than I was (except for two I’ve spotted on the video who must’ve gotten tickets) so I was the only person with an Infinite light stick in the front and I got quite a few looks~.
It came to be time to give the award, and Hoya and Sunggyu were on the back stage right in clear view. I didn’t scream but I stood and waved my light stick as desperately as possible without raising it too high or whacking people. Hoya noticed and nudged Sunggyu and they both waved at me happily. SOBS I LOVE YOU GUYS. Um, what? Who wrote that?
It was announced that SNSD won and at that point everyone was like ‘omfg get out of the way before the Sones attack!’ and there was a bigger rush for the exit than for the front… I ended up heading out as well. Then the MyName fans lined up again…
Because apparently we were going to get an impromptu fan meeting!
Waited for a bit with all the Koreans complaining about it being cold while I’m standing there in a thin hoodie with a t-shirt and shorts and completely fine. xD I would have taken pictures, but my camera is not nearly as good as all these Koreans cameras and it sucks if it gets anywhere near dark or if I zoom in whatsoever.
We were lead over to the sort of open park-ish area right by the building and sat in front of the glowing heads statue there. It’s hard to explain, but if you do ever go you will know what I’m talking about… Waited for a bit and then MyName came out! They greeted us and we got to talk and flail for a bit. At the end they all got a chance to speak for a bit. Chaejin, the magnae, started crying so we did an ‘uljima!’ chant that was provoked by the other members. And then he hugged Gunwoo (the leader) and everyone cheered. Leader + Magnae… it never stops.
It was already past eight so I high tailed it to the bus and from the bus to the train station to get to the KBS buildings for Sukira. I met up with my good friend Kaoru there and we chilled in the lobby waiting for everyone to show up. We were allowed to be a lot closer yesterday than normal. I don’t know if it was because of the different security guard or because they realized we weren’t going to try and jump the security gates (like in trains stations) but I got some good video.
It was extremely crowded today because of Jaejin from FT Island being one of the guests. Kaoru and I gave up being outside for the first half of the show relatively early on and went inside to use the computers in the internet corner there until we got kicked out. (That hasn’t happened before, so I’m wondering why it was different. Maybe because the guests were leaving?) Then we went to the windows again and, as to be expected, once the people there for Jaejin left we were able to scoot in to some pretty good places really close! I got lots of video, but my camera sucks so it’s pixelly… I will upload at some point, but it is not a big rush.
As Infinite went to leave the radio booth they all came close to the window and were being friendly and I got some great shots then. Dongwoo and Sungyeol at one point were either pointing at me or the girl in front of me. I think she had something funny written on her sign? But Sungyeol did notice me again, definitely.
Watched them leave inside (I still don’t know where this extra elevator they have is…) before heading out to watch their car leave. All of them rolled the windows down and were friendly, but it was dark so I don’t have it recorded well, sobs…
Now I shall run off, because I need to get ready for going to Sukira today. It’s the last live day, and we will be battling with I believe it is Orange Caramel fans. Kaoru claimed spots for us today since she went to Music Bank so we should be able to be close to start with, but that doesn’t make it any less of a battle. I’m going to wear heels so I can see better and take video better. It still won’t be very good zoomed in, but it’ll be decent. :3
Before I get ready and run I will make a video for you all with MyName’s fanchant… After that, it’ll be until next time when I am here with fancams! :D (I do still need to upload some from Inkigayo last weekend too. That will happen next time as well.)
In the end I spotted girls in full-body animal outfits with fansigns for MyName members and asked them where the list was. They were more than happy to show me where and I put my name on the list. General Happenings: 111013 Cooking Day!
In school on Thursday we didn't have regular class the first two hours of the day and instead spent it making japchae! Japchae is a sort of stirfried dish of noodles, vegetables, meat and egg meant to be a colorful dish of in-season things. My class of thirteen people was split up into two groups and we sort of competed to see who could make the best japchae.
For the start of the week we had been working on learning words to do with food... both making and eating it. So all of the instructions and ingredients were in Korean. It made it a bit more difficult, but everyone together was able to figure it out and get it done!
The two teams for my class were Team Owen (named after the Owen in our class, because Yasutoshi who was also on our team tends to like to pick on him) and Team International (because they had the most varied nationalities). Team Owen was Owen (of course), myself, Yasutoshi (who didn't show up), Mai, Asuka, Lishin and Shinyu (I don't know if that's how you spell the last two's names in English...) International Team was made up of Pengcheng, You-bin, Megan, Michelle, Miyu and Maki.
I'm not going to go into details of how we made it (unless all of you want the recipe?) but some small incidents that went on.
Basically, I suck at the 'basics' of cooking. I'm no good at chopping up vegetables, but for some reason I ended up cutting the carrots. That was an interesting experience... and the other people in my class (especially the Japanese girls) were having fun teasing me for how I cut the carrots. I was doing my best! They did end up a bit funky though. I managed to get them as thin as they needed to be, so it wasn't a problem or anything.
While Pengcheng was cooking the meat for the other team, they put it all into the frying pan and it suddenly burst into flames. We all freaked out and eventually got it to stop before laughing about it being "Chinese-style" cooking. I wish I had gotten it on video...
After both groups had finished cooking we had our teacher judge whose japchae was the best. I totally should have seen it coming, but she said they were both good... Most people in our class thought my team's japchae was better tasting, though! I avoided trying the other teams because they had put in the mushrooms and those tend to make me feel sick, so I'm taking everyone else's word on it.
Last but not least, a class photo! Can you spot me...? Hahaha.
This is a pitifully short post compared to all of my older ones, but hopefully people will actually be able to finish reading it this time... Did you manage?

General Happenings: 111007~111009
Yes, it is yet another post describing my monster busy weekend! Not too much interesting happened in the days between the Tuesday that ended my last general happenings post and the Friday I am starting this one with. Class, dance lessons, ridiculous amounts of homework, discovering a Taco Bell in Sinchon, things like that. The cold I possibly got from Sunggyu got pretty bad on Wednesday, though I pushed through the day without too much of a problem.
In the random information category: I have literally been shoveling chocopies into my face these past several days. Some days I even eat a full box worth of chocopies all on my own (= around 1550~1860 calories)... and yet I am still maintaining or even losing weight. And it's not like I'm not eating anything else besides that either so... I'm confused.

General Happenings: 111001~111004
Okay, so. In the time since I wrote my last post I managed to lose my notebook that I had all my notes written about this weekend in it. I finished writing the bit about Saturday even before my post about the days before it, but for the rest I'm going to have to try and do my best to remember everything that happened. I will say right now that I literally do not remember much of Sunday.

General Happenings: 110927~110930
Originally I was going to make just one huge post about this whole weekend, but then I typed out a fan account for Saturday when I went to Music Core and an Infinite fansigning and it was around a mile long. So for now I'm going to go ahead and tell about things that happened during the week last week. Tomorrow or in the next couple of I will end up talking about Saturday through today, Monday (which is a national holiday). It will include long rants about two different fansignings, one for Infinite and one for U-Kiss, so it will get pretty long and fangirly.
